SOTA Tour XL !
I waited as long as I could to get some nice weather, but still catch the winter bonus points.
And I was lucky : the previsions for the beginning of March looked excellent.
This time, I also wanted to do some shopping in Germany, to get some products that are not available in Belgium. So I made a plan for a SOTA Tour XL, adding an extra day, and one extra summit.
For this trip, I took my IC-705 Go-Box, with the short random wire (9.15m), 9:1 UNUN and ATU-100 Autotuner.
These were the activated summits, combined with a few POTA* and one BOTA** activation.
Day 1 - March 1, 2026
ON/ON-006, La Croix Scaille - 503m, 6 points + POTA BE-0468
ON/ON-004, Bois de Hazeille - 586m, 6 Points + POTA BE-0453
ON/ON-013, Bois de Hodinfosse - 568m, 6 points
Day 3 - March 3, 2026
ON/ON-001, Signal de Botrange - 694m, 8 points + POTA BE-0385
ON/ON-026, Le Mont d'Henri-Chapelle - 354m, 2 points + BOTA B/ON-0482/0483/0484/0485/0486
Summary:
Activator points : + 79
Chaser points : + 182
S2S points : + 244 , bringing me back to first place for S2S contacts in Belgium, but with only a 10 points advance on Peter ON4UP, so the ranking will not hold for very long ...
I drove 836 km, but this included a detour in Germany for the shopping.
I stayed one night in a hotel, and one night in an AirBnb.
