To take it a bit easier, I had decided to stay in Eschbach for two nights.
So I had to do less driving this day, and also planned only two summits.
DM/BW-008, Schauinsland - 1284m, 10 points (POTA DE-0004)
This is an easy, almost drive-up summit. Read also my previous report here.
I left early to make sure I got a parking spot near the summit, pos 47.908186, 7.892080
The old advice is still valid, do this summit on a weekday!
The walk to the summit starts at these stairs, and it's only 10 minutes to the top.

A nice activation, 34 QSO's and 3 S2S.
I planned my second summit because I needed it for a complete.
But then trouble started. The shortest road went through the village of Langackern, but there were road works, and every other road was either blocked or forbidden. So I had to make a huge detour, all the way through the busy city of Freiburg. See my APRS track below ...
After some delay, I arrived at my second summit at noon.
DM/BW-105, Schönberg - 645m, 6 points
I used the track provided by Markus, HB9DIZ.
Although Google said the Gasthof would be open, it was closed.
No problem for me, that way the parking lot was empty, and nobody bothered me.
First I had my picnic, took some rest, and then had to start walking ... the temperature was already 26°C.
Instead, I found a small spot in the shade, near the radio tower.
I made 21 QSO's with 6 S2S, but it was getting extremely hot, 35°C !
Still, after packing my HF stuff, I got the idea to briefly try some 2m FM. So I took my FT-1D handheld, with the Chinese telescopic antenna, and started calling. Two stations replied and one of them sounded very familiar ... it was Marcel, DM3FAM/P. Unfortunately, he was not on a summit or it would have been nice to add another S2S in the log, hi.
The first part is under the trees, so far so good ...
But the last part is in the sunshine, so I could not use the nice benches at the summit.
